Adding a goat or chickens to the family plot dramatically increases survivability in the event of crop damage due to weather. Goats are mostly used for their milk and are normally given in pairs so families may also benefit from their young. Chickens breed fast and can support a family with eggs and young in as little as five months. Animal offspring can also generate extra funds to help pay school fees and help the family expand their farming activities

Greenhouses have proven their way to help with the sometimes extreme weather patterns to deliver more consistent crops year round. These crops also help in a number of ways.
