Mission Tour is Blessed by Winder UMC
 . . . A wonderful Vacation Bible School
. . . . . A Blessed Experience

We were Blessed to have Shannon & Curtis on the trip !

A highly active and engaging 3-day Vacation Bible School was led by Shannon & Curtis Gibbs from Winder UMC in Winder, GA. They are Winder UMC's Youth Director and Youth Minister respectively. Winder UMC raised approximately $ 8,000 for trip expenses and Bible School supples. In addition the funds provided Mattresses and Mosquito Netting to the LCM Orphans attending the Vacation Bible School. These items were met with great excitement because they are so very needed in this area.

The children continue to talk of the fun and Christian education that Shannon and Curtis brought them. This was a great part of their summer.

Shannon and Curtis' devotion and dedication to this project has made lasting changes in these Orphans lives.

Winder UMC's generous support was and continues to be a Blessing to each of these orphans!

Many Thanks for your participation!

God Bless your Congregation.

 Matching Grant Gift
. . . Multiple your Donation four times and see it grow!

LCM has received a personal grant of up to $ 20,000 to be used as a matching donation through the end of 2006. Your $ 1,000 will realize $ 2,000 for LCM.

If you are fortunate enough to work for an employer that matches individual charitable donations, your $ 500.00 donation could grow to $ 2,000, a fourfold expansion of your gift.
  • Perhaps a family Christmas gift to those less fortunate.
  • Perhaps a year end tax planning donation comes to mind.
  • Remember to plan early.

Multiple your gifts!

Multiple the Goodness of God!

Dr. Diana Karanja in Atlanta, GA
. . . Member of LCM Kenyan Board

Dr Karanja

Dr. Diana Karanja, of Kisumu, Kenya, was in Atlanta this week to attend a conference on Tropical Diseases. She is an active member of the Kenyan Board, based in Kisumu. During her visit she attended Sunday Service at North Springs UMC and was recognized and applauded for her assistance with LCM's activities. The US Board celebrated her visit with a special luncheon Sunday afternoon. It was a wonderful time visiting with her.

We are Blessed to have her in our circle of friends.

 Chigger Eradication Program Begins
 . . . School Playgrounds are infested

The funding has been received and the eradication program will begin shortly. Two school playgrounds infested with Chiggers that cause irritating sores and infections to the children's feet will be the first to be treated. We have contracted with an exterminating company that will provide the treatment during the December school break. The treatment will be liquid and dry chemicals and will provide a long-lasting solution.

This will enhance the children's learning ability and be a very positive action.

 Good Things People Are Doing
 . . . Hard work goes a long way

On October 1, Fifty-Three (53) shoe boxes were shipped to LCM Offices in Kisumu, Kenya for delivery before Christmas. The Orphans will receive these Christmas boxes filled with toys and personal hygiene items. We know the gifts will add joy to these children's lives.

Many North Springs UMC members and local residents took time to gather the items, pack, and wrap each box. Lisa Ulrich carried all the packages to the post office and made sure they were shipped on time.

Many Thanks to Lisa Ulrich for hearing the Call.
