      The 2007 Life For Children Ministry Mission tour is coming together and you are encouraged to attend one of the two scheduled meetings to get the full Who, What, When, and Where (we already know the "Why") on this important event in the life of this Ministry.

      If you feel the Call to get involved like never before, here is one of the best ways. Go where you are needed. Each of these meetings will give the same information of the importance of this Mission and the work to be undertaken.

      This year's Mission Team will be hands-on with 3 distinct directives:

      • Construction - To build a fellowship hall for hygiene education and Bible study;
      • Medical - To complete a full medical assessment of our orphans and possibly extended families;
      • Spiritual - To complete a full Vacation Bible School of LCM orphans and community children.

      We are close to setting actual dates, but we wanted to talk to interested folks before setting firm dates. We have flexibility on Africa side of Mission.

      Please call Dick Weber at 404 983 7864 with any questions.

       Chigger Eradication Program - Update
       . . . . Two School Playgrounds have been treated.

      The grounds of two primary schools in South Nyanza Provence, where 25 LCM orphans attend classes, have been treated for the removal of chiggers. The bite of this very small mite on the feet of our orphans causes severe itching and chronic dermatitis, hampering the ability of these young students to concentrate on their studies.

      Hundreds of other local students will benefit from this LCM initiative. In addition the nearby community has expressed their deepest thanks for this help to improve their children's lives.

       Michael Visits Gardendale Mt. Vernon UMC in Alabama
       . . . . A Blessed Trip

      The Mission Society introduced me to the Gardendale Mt. Vernon Church community approximately three months ago in regards to an upcoming Global Impact Celebration (GIC). Shortly thereafter, Director of Missions Mr. Paul Wiegert, got in communication with me about their program and the timing of events.

      On the 7th of February I traveled to Alabama for the five day Mission weekend. This was the first time in my life that I saw so many Missionaries in one gathering. Missionaries to me were always people who seem to just do their stuff quietly or in com muni ca do, without drawing much attention to themselves. It seemed to me that they never speak loud in public places and many times they have no official place of trade or office but their residence.

      Gardendale Mt. Vernon UMC had us hosted in the homes of church members. It was an honor to stay with the Family of the Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Lewis who also serves as the Church's music Director. What a great host. Their hospitality and generosity was such a humbling experience. I had all I wanted and they were ready to take me anywhere I needed to be, not to mention the enjoyable short afternoon driving tour of Birmingham. I made many friends in the Gardendale Mt Vernon United Methodist Church and sincerely thank God that my family in His domain has grown.

      What an honor to be among the giants in the Lord. The Missionaries were not only equip with their great experiences in the field, and how much God has answered their prayers in their respective disciplines, but also how much God has been faithful to provide to their call. Testimonies of God's hand and miracles in their lives were surprising if not expected. God still does miracles. It was a powerful team of men and woman of faith and the word of God. The best and most memorable time of all, was when the missionaries and church leaders took time to pray and lay a hand on each other for guidance, strength, and dedication to their Ministries. This time for worship and praise, was such a blessing to my heart.

      Additionally, I had a seldom in life opportunity to present the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. I did it by the power of the Holy Spirit and left the result to God. The Life for Children Ministry is proud to have been represented by myself and Richard Weber to this forum. We trust God that indeed as his word says, what he has started he will finish, "He will raise you and me to finish his work". Do you feel the Call? Are you ready? For all who have committed their lives to support these Ministries, may God's Honor and Glory Bless you, each and every one.

      I again want to thank Senior Pastor Dr. Rudi Guess, the Congregation Members of Gardendale Mt. Vernon UMC, and the Church Mission Team, for organizing this year's GIC, and for inviting all the missionaries who were part of the celebration. I also want to thank The Mission Society and praise God for the work that he continues through them.
