Dear Supporter,

Michael has returned from his trip to Kenya to review the progress of the Life for Children Ministry. His exciting report is below.

Your support and God's help has made this possible.

Report on Micheal's Trip to Kenya
 . . . . The Holy Spirit was present.

Greetings in the name our Lord and savior Jesus. On behalf of our partners, donors, orphans and the entire family of Life For Children Ministry, I as your servant feel honored to brief you on the latest news.

God's Orphans

My stay in Kenya for the last 35 days was quite an experience. I spend time with all the 62 orphans we are supporting. The smiling faces of these boys and girls who are wonderfully and fearfully created by God before me was such a humbling experience. They stood, they sat patiently a waiting a word from us, a word of hope, a word of God and a word of a bright future. These boys and girls had an opportunity to play shout and own toys, some of them for the first time in their lives. They can now go to school, knowing clearly that some one some where will buy them uniforms, they know for sure that they will go back to their houses and get something to eat because of your support. They are proud owners of shoes that you and I have donated to this ministry. They can bath with soap and use the toothbrushes with toothpaste for the purposes of brushing their teeth's and not using toothpaste as candy, because they know that should they run low of toothpastes some one will provide again.

We prayed with them and taught them the word of God. We made it clear to these orphans that all the help they have received and will continue to receive, has come from God. Through you and me all the glory and honor goes back to God.

In the past there have been uncertainty in the hearts of guardians whether this ministry will be there to stay or like many organizations fall as fast as they have come to life. Now for more than one year of great commitment and dedication from donors, staff and the managing board, the communities say with much confidence that Life For Children Ministry is changing lives for the glory of God. Our offices are full of inquiries from people who would like their relative orphans to be supported. As you may be aware we can only support what our resources allow us to. Currently it is estimated that one in every 10 children is an orphan.

HIV / AIDS is still a major contributing factor to the sky rocketing number of orphans in Kenya. In Kisumu and Homa Bay where our base is, it is estimated that 25% of that population is HIV / AIDS positive. It is also estimated that in 2010 in sub Sahara Africa, 1 in every 4 children will be orphans.

Julie Campbell, missionary

Julie Campbell is from Lancaster Pennsylvania and a missionary with The Mission Society. What a great joy to have her in Life for Children Ministry Homa Bay Kenya. We take this opportunity to welcome her officially as she starts her four-year service with us in Kenya. Julie was immediately accepted in the community where she will be working to transform lives with the power of the holy spirit in the name of our lord and savior Jesus Christ. Julie will be heading Homa Bay operations as she lives within the rural communities of Wachara. She bought a four-wheel drive that will help her a great deal to manage the almost impassable road during raining seasons. Julie loves children and she is happy to be part of this ministry.

Please pray with Julie as she settles down. She speaks Kiswahili, the national language and it will not take her long to mingle and share her life with the Luo Community. Please remember Julie in your prayers.

Water Wells

We have made a lot of progress in regard to the water wells. The geological surveyor's report is out and indicates the possibility of water in all three sites sampled, i.e. the school grounds, the clinic and the Wachara community where Julie Campbell will be staying. The water wells will have to be at least 100 meters deep at all the sites.

This morning I received a quotation from one of the drilling companies and we're still expecting two more bids before we can decide who does the work.

Dear Beloved, please continue standing with Life For Children Ministry, in your prayers. Our goal this year is to support at least 100 orphans. We are currently supporting 62 orphans. Would you stand with us to see this dream come to reality? Please support our orphans.

Be Blessed.

Michael Ouma Agwanda

 Mosquito Nets
. . . . Inexpensive Item Saves Thousands of Lives

Your prayers and financial gifts have gone a long way in supporting the lives of over 60 HIV / AIDS orphans. Almost since this Ministry's inception our orphans have received mosquito nets for the prevention of Malaria, as well as, medications should they become infected. It is a preventable disease and inexpensive to treat. LCM orphans are protected. Our goal is to provide additional mosquito nets to all community members within our sphere of influence around Homa Bay and Kisumu, should funding become available. At about $ 10 per net, few better life saving devices exist.

If you would like to make a special "designated" donation to this worthy cause, please contact Dick Weber 404.983.7864

May God Bless you.
