Dear Supporters,

Recently Michael visited Covenant UMC (Ft Wayne, IN) and Mt Zion UMC (Marietta, GA) and presented his personal story about Life for Children Ministry. See complete stories below.

Two Fresh Water Wells have received final government approval to begin drilling. This is truly a Blessing for the people in these two areas. Clean, Fresh Water.

2007 Summer Mission Tour to Kenya
 . . . . Set to go

The 2007 Summer Mission Tour with 16 youth and adults will depart on the 30th of July for two weeks in Kenya with a busy schedule of Mission Work for Life for Children Ministry. As earlier reported, a Vacation Bible School with our 72 orphans and many local kids will keep 7 of our team members very busy (over 100 is expected). Another 4 to 5 Team Members will complete a Medical Assessment of our orphans and their families, and another group will start work on a much needed Community Center to house current Bible Study groups, dietary and hygiene training classes and future programs for micro business / economic self sufficiency.

As you can see, this year's Summer Mission Tour has ambitious objectives, to say the least. But then we have always strived for that which would be "doomed to failure, lest God be in it"

For your information, most travel and lodging expenses will be born by each Missionary, some will be born by the Ministry, but much is needed from supporters like yourself for material and supplies which will exceed $14,000 overall. Can you help in any way as we prepare to go into the field for this important Mission Work??

Do you Hear The Call to Help?

Please write or call Michael if you are able to help.

Timothy and Pastor Steve welcome Michael Written by Michael

During my missionary training at The Mission Society, I met Justin Grogg. He was my roommate through to the commissioning day on the 10th August 2005. As men full of faith and excitement with the word of God, ready to reach the end of the earth sharing the same, we looked to the future, with no certainty how the lord was going to use us. All we knew is that the Lord had Called us and because he who is in us is greater than he who is in the world, we knew he had something for us for His Glory. Justin now serves in Peru as a missionary with The Mission Society and I'm serving in Kenya with Life for Children Ministry.

Why Justin? He introduced me to his home church Covenant UMC. On April 6 I had a wonderful opportunity to visit through an invitation from Senior Pastor Steve Conner and Tim Alderdice. While I visited Covenant UMC I stayed with Tim and his lovely family; Christine, Alexandra and Charlie.

Pastor Steve Conner gave me and opportunity to speak to his congregation about our ministry and this was one of the best moments I have ever had. Covenant UMC is such a lovely and caring church. The church accepted to stand with Life for Children Ministry in prayer and needs of orphan of HIV/AIDS that we care for in Kenya. We are Blessed to have your support.

In August Pastor Steve and Tim will be traveling with us to Kenya on LCM's short term Mission Trip. This is a clear indicator that this church does not just want to support us, but they are also ready to reach the end of the earth with the Message of God.

After prayerful consideration Covenant UMC has decided to become an LCM Partner Church. God Bless you.

 . . . . New Supporters Hear the Message

Michael speaking at My Zion UMC On Sunday, June 24, Michael told his personal story about Life for Children Ministry to congregations in three worship services at Mt Zion UMC. This church is very involved with Outreach and Missions. This summer they sent 3 mission teams to South America for almost a month of combined work. A number of their members stepped forward and made commitments of both prayers and financial support.

We would like to personally thank Rev. Steven Lyle for the invitation to come and explain God's mission, Life for Children Ministry.

We are humbled by your prayers and will use their strength to continue our mission.

 Fresh Water Wells
 . . . . Two Well Sites Receive Approval

Praise God! Two of our Fresh Water Well sites receive final government approval for drilling to start. These water wells will bring these communities together and create a springboard for sharing Christ's message. Water Wells providing fresh, clean water will be located close to Osani Village and Wachara Village.

Your support and prayers have provided these fresh water wells to these needy communities. Previously they had to walk long distances for unclean water.

This is truly their Maji ya maisha (Water of Life)

 Kisumu Office has busy June
 . . . . Many actives and visitors

Life for Children Ministry is no longer a new thing in the communities of Kisumu and Homa Bay. Many local people know the good work being done by LCM in Christ's name. Prior to selecting 10 new orphans in June, our staff was very busy qualifying orphans from the very large pool of orphans in both communities.

The LCM Staff has:
  • Researched each child
  • Completed an assessment form
  • Noted their individual situation
  • Investigated for relatives or suitable guardians
  • Confirmed their ability to provide care for orphans

As selection day approached more than 60 guardians with dependents came to the offices to be included for selection of the 10 positions available. Every effort was made for equal opportunity for each orphan to be reviewed. Many of the ones who were not selected have begun attending our biweekly worship and fellowship service.
