LCM Charity Dinner & Auction is this coming Saturday night at 6:00 PM. New Auction items are arriving daily. This will be a very enjoyable evening. Please plan to attend.

 Toyota 4 Wheel Drive Truck Purchased by LCM
 . . . . Our Prayers are answered.

4 Wheel Drive Truck

Our eternal thanks go to the individuals and Northbrook UMC in Roswell, GA that followed their hearts and have made a difference by donating the funds necessary to purchase a Toyota 4 Wheel Drive Truck. During the rainy season the roads are so bad you must have a 4 wheel drive vehicle to travel to many of our orphans.

LCM will use the truck for:

  • Case Worker Field Visitations
  • Orphan Medical Visits
  • Deliveries of Support Goods to Orphans
  • and many other needed activities

 Used Bibles Needed
 . . . . For LCM Friends in Kenya

In response to many requests from our friends in Kenya, the Life For Children Ministry will start collecting used Bibles. They will be carried to Kenya as space is available in the luggage on short-term mission trips.

Please bring your used Bibles, that you would like to contribute, to the Charity Dinner on Saturday, May 3rd, or anytime thereafter to North Springs UMC. You can also mail them to the church at address at the very bottom of this email. Send to Attention: Life For Children Ministry "Bibles".

Many of our friends in Kenya will gratefully appreciate this gesture. Used Bible cost almost as much as new ones, which exceed $10.00 each.

 Recent Events within Kenya
 . . . . Starting to Return to Normal

Pre-Election life returns to Kenya though some issues remain following the civil uprising. Homes and stores to rebuild, school programs to restart, manufacturing, transportation and communication facilities to repair and get back on line.

Constitutional reforms (new Prime Minister's position) and new Cabinet Ministers are being selected and installed, though opposition has slowed the process. Country-wide optimism suggests that these reforms will occur, though change is always difficult.

Please keep Kenya in your prayers.

 


 Recent Events within Life For Children Ministry
 . . . . In Kenya

The completion of LCM's Fresh Water Project in Wachara is now moving forward.

Administrative details with Rotary Club International have been completed to allow the purchase of the much needed Ministry van.

Ten New Orphans have been accepted into the program as new Church Partners commit financial resources. Praise God.

The April Mission Trip is now underway with Michael and four folks (3 from The Mission Society and one from St John's UMC, Aiken, SC. We Pray for their safe journey.
