Dear Supporters,
On Saturday evening, May 3rd,
2008, at 6:00 PM, Life For Children
Ministry in concert with North Springs
United Methodist Church is hosting a Charity
Dinner and Silent Auction to benefit Life For
Children Ministry. As you know, this is a
faith-based ministry that supports HIV/AIDS
orphans in Kenya. Today this ministry, which is
just 2 years old, supports over 100 orphans with
shelter, food, medical care, school uniforms and
religious instruction thanks to the generosity of
North Springs UMC and many others.
Life For Children
Ministry places children orphaned by the
HIV/AIDS pandemic into the homes of extended
family members or appointed local guardians in an
effort to preserve their family, cultural and
traditional tribal values. Our goal is to bring
hope to this Lost Generation of children suffering
so greatly from the HIV/AIDS Pandemic.
You may remember that this
event, first held in 2006, was an exceptional
evening of fun and good fortune. So please mark
this date on your calendar and start inviting
family and friends. Tickets will go on sale in
early April.
- Keynote Speaker: Dick McClain, Vice
President of Ministry Operations, The Mission
Society
- Musical entertainment will be provided by
The Super Choir of Atlanta, GA

Remember: Saturday, May 3rd,
2008.
Now, you may be asking
yourself, "How can I help to insure the success of
the evening?" You can add to the success of this
event by contributing goods and services that
might seem of modest or little value to you, but
may have considerable value to another. Your small
item will make the difference to a child in Kenya.
So dust off that unused wedding gift or inherited
thinga-ma-gig or duplicate power tool and send it
along to the LCM Charity Dinner and Auction
Committee, to the attention of Bill Barbour or
Dick Weber at North Springs United Methodist
Church.
Please take a minute and look
through your office or home for something that
might have greater value to another such as
autographed sports items, signed limited editions,
first copies of a book, crystal or silver candy
dishes, dearly departed Uncle Walt's favorite
piece of Lladro, cousin Rudy's HO gauge railroad
set. Or, think about that time-share at Tybee
Island for the week you can't go, that
complimentary airline ticket that you can't use.
Or, perhaps you can offer a service like a plane
ride over Lake Lanier, free yard care for the
following summer, a golf game for four at your
club, a gourmet dinner for four at your home with
Michael!! You get the idea. We thank you in
advance for your support.
