Dear
Supporter,
John Onyango was born in 1999 to the
late Argey Otieno and Caroline Onyango who both died in
2007. His father was killed during the post election
violence. He is under the care of the maternal
grandmother, Margaret Reketch, who is 51 years old and a
widow. The guardian is taking care of 5 other dependents
and she does not have a steady source of income. She is
HIV positive and cannot perform any type of manual labor
in order to produce an income.
John is in class 4 at Manyatta
Primary School; he is a bright child and makes good
marks in school. He enjoys playing football and
climbing trees. At fellowship he gets along well with
the other children. He helps with household chores like
fetching water and firewood. He has always admired his
teachers and wants to be the same when he grows up so
that he can improve the living conditions of his family
and teach many other orphans and vulnerable children
that he may one day meet.
The conditions of his home are
very poor; the walls are made of sticks held together
with mud. The walls are weak and as you look at
the house the roof leans to the right due to the
crumbling structure. It is very clear just by looking at
the house that it could very well wash away with next
heavy rainstorm. To make matters worse, the landlord is
trying to evict them from the land and they have nowhere
else to go. There are no other relatives to move in with
and no one else to turn to. They are determined to stay
on the land and dream of one day having a better house.
Because of all this John looks very shy most of the time
but always desires to interact with other children
equally. Through our weekly fellowships John and his
guardian are always encouraged to know that Jesus still
loves them and is taking care of them through
Life for Children Ministry that
gives them a new strength to face the many trials that
have come their way. Rob, I hope you will
keep John in your
prayers.
NOTE: To

Religion that God our father
accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after
orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself
from being polluted by the world. James

| Building Fund Update for Church -
Community Hall for Wachara |
Hempfield
UMC, Lancaster, PA, has pushed the
Building Fund "To
The Top" with their
donation. "Hallelujah"
The
Fund Drive for the building has has been completed
and will enable us to also furnish the
building. With
your help
the construction will start in April and be finished in
time to be used during our August short-term
mission trip.
This much needed church/community center in
Wachara is becoming a reality. It will be a multi-use
building. A church on Sunday and Wednesday, a
training hall for agriculture education on
Tuesday. HIV/AIDS training will be held on
Thursday. Short-term mission participants will be able
to stay in the building while they assist
the community with Medical Mission Camps and Vacation
Bible Schools.
This structure is
vital to the improvement of this village, these
wonderful people, their children and
the LCM orphans.
Visit our website to see building
plans and additional
information.
Rob, would you or others at your church like
to go on our August 2010 Short-term Mission
Trip? If so, simply reply to this email and tell
Michael. We'll send you information.
You will be Blessed by the
experience.

verse - Thought for your day |

Be
Joyful always; Pray continually; Give thanks in all

Rob,
It is
amazing how God does and accomplishes his tasks.
He never plans without implementing and neither
does he finish it without using faithful obedient
servants here on earth. You are the faithful obedient
servant of God. In you he has
fulfilled greater works in this ministry and because of
you this ministry will continue blessing others for
God's glory.
"But
just as you excel in everything in faith, in speech, in
knowledge, in complete earnestness and in your love for
us, see that you also excel in this grace of Giving".
2 Corinthians
8:7.
This is
going to be wonderful year because you responded to
God's call to be part of this
ministry.
Rob, we love you and we
pray for you. Be
Blessed.
